WARRIOR
What is a warrior? A true warrior? Someone fierce and bloodthirsty?
Someone fierce and strong, but never bloodthirsty. Someone proud and brave, with a strong and kind heart who will give up his life for another. This is a true warrior.
One who defends his family and his people.
One who cares for the Elders and who gives up the freedom of his own life, so that he can be what he must be - a Warrior. A Warrior for the People - hear the cry? A Warrior of the People who is willing to die. In many ways. For his people.
A warrior with a bow - a warrior with a gun, a warrior who with bare hands must do sometimes what must be done. He does it for his family, he does it for his people. He does it because it has to be done.
But there are different wars and what of that of the spirit? Fighting against the fiercest of foes - who may not kill your body, but will surely kill your spirit. Warriors too. Warriors who are fighting the strongest of foes - the ones who will try to destroy your soul.
Engaged in a struggle, of the most fierce kind, but a true Warrior will win, because he's determined to overcome - the enemies within - the strongest of all - that greatest enemy we see reflected there, as we gaze into the clear river that flows gentle and strong. A true Warrior will win, this battle, that must be won.
You are a true Warrior. Your heart is good. I see you struggle and it makes me proud - to know that you, my warrior, are shouting aloud - that I will win this battle I face, I will overcome the reflection I face.
I will be what I am to be. A true Warrior to my PEOPLE AND MY FAMILY.
